Notifications
When June notifies you: a long reply that finished, a reminder or schedule that ran, a mention in an organization chat. How to turn them on.
June notifies you when it has something for you and you are not looking: a reply that took a while, a reminder or schedule that ran, or, in an organization, a member who mentioned you. Notifications come to your browser and to the mobile app.
Turn them on
June asks at the moment a notification would help, and your browser or phone then asks for permission. The mobile app also offers them once after you first sign in.
- A reply that takes a while. About ten seconds into a reply, a bar above the composer offers to notify you when it is done. On the web, This device turns them on for this browser; it shows only where the browser can take notifications. Once they are on for at least one browser or phone, All devices shows too: it notifies every one of them and turns them on for this browser as well, where the browser can take them. In the app, tap Notify me.
- A reminder or a schedule. If you set one and nothing could notify you yet, the thread asks you to turn notifications on. Where the browser cannot take notifications, the bar asks you to turn them on in the mobile app instead. In the app, your phone asks right away.
If your browser blocks notifications, the bar says so: allow them for June in the browser's settings and try again.
What notifies you
| When | You get |
|---|---|
| A reply you asked to be notified about finishes | "Ready:" and the thread's title, with the start of the answer |
| A reminder or schedule runs in one of your threads | The same, on every device where you turned notifications on |
| That reply, reminder or schedule fails | "Your task needs attention" |
| A member mentions you in an organization chat and you have not read it after a minute | Who mentioned you, where, and what they wrote. Phone only. |

What notifications do not do
- They do not arrive for every reply, only for the ones you asked about.
- There is no switch for them in June's Settings; turn them off for June in your browser or phone settings.
