Projects
A space for one piece of work: its own instructions, files, memory and chats. Create one, fill it, and archive it when it is done.
A project keeps one piece of work together. Every chat in it follows the project's instructions, can open its files, and shares what June learns there, so you set the context once instead of in every chat.

Instructions
Instructions tell June how to work in this project: its role, tone, constraints, what good output looks like. June applies them word for word to every chat in the project; in your own projects, on top of your personal preferences. They hold up to 20,000 characters. A project's description is different: it shows on the project's page only, and June never sees it.
Icon
In the sidebar's thread marks, in the place filter (the folder button above your chats), in the bar above a chat and in Memory, a project shows two letters from its name; inside an organization, the organization's logo stands in until the project has an icon. The Projects page shows each project's own two letters, with the organization named beside them. To show your own icon instead, choose Edit on the project's page, then Upload icon: a PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF or SVG file up to 1 MB. The icon takes their place wherever the project is named, and everyone who can open the project sees it. Remove icon brings the letters or the logo back. June never sees the icon: it is not part of the project's instructions.
Files
Add files with Add files, or drop them on the project's page: up to 100 files, each up to 20 MB. Every chat in the project can open them; June sees their names and reads one when it needs it. Rename or remove a file on the project's page; removing takes effect at once.
Memory
What June learns in a project's chats is saved to the project, not to your personal memory, and it recalls it in every chat of the project. In your own projects it recalls your personal memory alongside; an organization's projects do not use your personal memory. The project's page shows what it saved; Open in Memory opens the Memory page filtered to the project, where you can forget a memory. A project also has a Soul of its own, for how the work goes there. See Memory and which memory each place reads and writes.
Chats
The project's page lists its chats. New chat starts one that carries the project's instructions and files; from the Projects page, hover a project for the same button. All chats in a project also work in the same sandbox.
To see only a project's threads in the sidebar, filter it by the project with the folder button (⌘⇧P).
Organization projects
A project in an organization belongs to the organization, and everyone in it can see the project. The organization's page has a link that opens the Projects page with the organization already chosen.
Archive a project
When the work is done, choose Archive on the project's page. The project moves to the archived projects at the bottom of the Projects page, and Unarchive brings it back. In an organization, only its admins can archive a project.
What projects do not do
- A project cannot be deleted, only archived.
- A project's memory and instructions stay in the project; chats outside it do not see them.
How June collects and organizes memory
When June saves a memory, how your Soul is built, what June recalls into a reply, and which memory each place reads and writes, shared chats included.
Organizations
A shared space for a team: create one, invite people or let your email domain join, and choose what it connects.
