Pay for an organization

Pick one funding source that pays for every turn in an organization: an API key, or a plan an admin shares.

Give an organization one funding source, and it pays for every turn anyone takes there, in place of each member's own plan. Without one, each person's own plan pays for their turns, as it does in their personal space.

Only admins see and change the funding source. While one pays, members see a line on the organization's page that names it.

Set a funding source

Open the organization's Funding section.
Add a source: Add a key for an API key (see Use an API key), or Share my plan for your own ChatGPT or Claude plan.
Pick the source in the list. A key pays nothing until you pick it, and one whose check failed cannot be picked until it works. A shared plan pays from the moment you share it when no funding source pays for the organization yet; if one already pays, it keeps paying until you pick the plan.

Exactly one source pays at a time, and a source that pays is only ever swapped out by you, by picking another. Remove on a source's row deletes it.

After you pick No funding source, or remove the source that pays, new chats run on each member's own plan again, or on June Models. A chat the source already paid for:

  • with an API key, stops: start a new chat.
  • with a shared plan, continues only if you have your own plan from the same provider connected; otherwise, start a new chat.

While a source pays, the model picker in the organization offers only its models (see Models and who pays).

Share my plan

Share my plan lets an admin's own ChatGPT or Claude plan pay for the organization. Connect the plan on your Settings page first (see Use your ChatGPT or Claude plan), then share it from the organization's Funding section. If no funding source pays for the organization yet, the plan pays from that moment and the message after sharing says so; if another source already pays, the plan is added to the list for you to pick.

Nothing is copied: the source points at your own connection. It stops paying when you disconnect the plan or leave the organization. The row shows how much of the plan's usage windows is used.

Warning in the Share my plan dialog

"This is against OpenAI's and Anthropic's consumer terms. Anthropic bills detected third-party usage from extra usage per token and may suspend the account."

See who used what

Below the sources, a table lists each source's use by member: calls, tokens and when they last used it. For more detail on your own use, open the Usage page.

When a source cannot pay

If the source that is set stops working (a key is rejected, a shared plan is disconnected or its owner leaves), June does not quietly fall back to someone's own plan. Every turn in the organization stops with a note that names the source and the reason and says an admin can fix it in Funding. An admin then fixes the source, picks another one, or picks No funding source. A shared plan whose owner left is fixed by that owner, back as an admin, sharing it again: the row clears, and it pays again if no other source pays.

What June does not do

  • It does not bill you for a source: a key or a shared plan is paid to its own provider, on that provider's terms.
  • It does not let a member choose a different source.
